The Las Vegas Raiders marched right down the field on their opening drive as quarterback. Geno Smith hits Tre Tucker in the end zone to put the Raiders up 7-0. On New England’s first opening drive they went three and out as the offense couldn’t get anything going. On the Raiders second drive they were putting together a decent drive when Jaylinn Hawkins intercepted Geno Smith on a tip ball to give the Patriots the ball. The Patriots second offensive drive was a masterpiece for Drake Maye as he had the offense marching the team right down the field and hitting the DeMario Douglas for a 2-yard touchdown to tie the game at seven. After the Patriots drive stalled and the Raiders missed a field goal at the end of the first half the Patriots went into the locker room leading the Raiders 10-7. The. Patriots started the second half with quarterback Drake Maye throwing an interception. The Raiders would turn that interception into points as they drove down the field and Ashton Jeanty scored on a three-yard touchdown run to go up 14-10. The rest of the third quarter and into the fourth quarter it was a back-and-forth game with the Raiders. Las Vegas would add a pair of field goals to extend the lead 20-10 over the Patriots. New England-would add a late field goal closing the gap to 20-13 but would go on to lose the game 20-13.
To summarize the game after giving up a quick touchdown on the first drive, the team settled down to lead the game 10-7 at the end of the first half however in the second half New England would struggle blocking Drake Maye made many mistakes, including a crucial interception. The defense gave up too many big plays in the passing game and there were way too many penalties all adding up to an embarrassing loss at home 20-13 to the Raiders next week they will face what appears to be a must to win game against division foe the Miami Dolphins in Miami which is a crucial divisional game.
