This is going to be a crucial season for the New England Patriots under first year Head Coach Mike Vrabel. Coming off the past two seasons the Patriots finished with only four wins and thirteen loses. Coach Vrabel brings a renewed energy and a different culture to the Patriots and the Patriot's fans. Under the new coaching staff, the Patriots look to regain their winning ways as they will push for a playoff spot. In this article I will break down the schedule into quarters breaking down four games at a time.
Head Coach Mike Vrabel and the Patriots open the season on Sunday September 7th against the Las Vegas Raiders at 1pm eastern. Old friend and minority owner Tom Brady and the Raiders return to Foxboro to face the Patriots. This has been a great rivalry in the past and should be another great hard-fought game with the Patriots with squeaking out Coach Vrabel's first win as head coach of the Patriots. In the second game of the season the Patriots travel to Miami for a division match with the Dolphins. New England has struggled in Miami early in the season due to the heat and should struggle in this game as well. I see the Patriots hanging in the game in the first half but then Miami should pull away for the win handing the Patriots their first loss of the season bringing their record to 1-1. Week three provides and interesting matchup with a busy week as well for the franchise. First off, the franchise will hold their Hall of Fame ceremonies to honor both former head coach Bill Parcells and former wide receiver Julian Edelman as they will be inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame. Follow that up with the Pittsburgh Steelers coming to town for an AFC showdown in week three at Gillette Stadium. The Steelers will be led by Quarterback Aaron Rodgers and company which should give New England a hard-fought game. When the schedule came out, I had this game as a win for the Patriots but with the Steelers recent addition of quarterback Aaron Rodgers and trade with the Dolphins for defensive back Jalen Ramsey and old friend tight end Jonnu Smith I now see the Patriots dropping this game to the Steelers give New England back-to-back losses and a 1-2 record. New England looks to rebound in week four as the host the Carolina Panthers at Gillette Stadium. The Panthers are an up-and-coming team led by quarterback Bryce Young with a talented offensive team. The Panthers should give New England a hard-fought game, but the Patriots should cruise to an easy victory to even their record at two wins and two losses on the season.
Starting the second quarter of the schedule with a 2-2 record is a major win for new head coach Mike Vrabel and his team. This four-game stretch will also test the team as well have three straight road game then finally finishing up the season at home against the Browns. Starting off this stretch of games the Patriots travel to Buffalo to face quarterback Josh Allen and his powerful Bills. The Bills have and elite offensive and powerful defense as they have owned the AFC East of late and should win this game against the Patriots. Moving on to the week six match up against the Saints in New Orleans. The Saints are rebuilding their team and that is good for the Patriots to play hard and discipline football. The Patriots should rebound and even their record at three wins and three losses. The Patriots wrap up this three game road trip in Tennessee to face another team rebuilding. Facing the Titans is a revenge game for head coach Mike Vrabel as he returns facing his old team. Quarterback Drake Maye and the Patriots lost to the Titans 20-17 last year so add this to the revenge game hype. Having said all that, I expect the Patriots to be primmed and ready for victory and pull to 4-3 on the season. New England returns home for a week eight matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Now the real question here is who will the quarterback be when the Patriots face the Browns? However, the Patriots should cruise to an easy victory at home and lead the franchise to a 5-3 record at the halfway point in the upcoming season.
Starting the second half of the season on November 2, 2025, they host the Atlanta Falcons at home. The Falcons are another up and coming team lead by second year quarterback Micheal Penix Jr. This will be a battle from start to finish but I see New England prevailing in this game for the victory and improving their record to six wins and three losses. Week seven has the Patriots traveling back to Florida to face the Buccaneers led by quarterback Baker Mayfield and another elite team. In Florida the results should be the same as Miami another loss for the Patriots after hanging in the game early on to drop its record to 6-4. In week 11 the Patriots will look to rebound as they host the Jets in Foxboro. Now this is not the same New York Jets of the past after cleaning house and moving on from quarterback Aaron Rodgers and hiring new head coach Aaron Glenn. I see this game as a get right game after a loss in Tampa Bay with coach Vrabel having his team ready to get back into the win column. New England should win this game hands down and improve to seven wins and four losses. Enter a critical game in week 12 of the season the Patriots will face a monumental challenge going to Cincinnati to face a powerhouse team led by Pro Bowl quarterback Joe Burrow. This game should provide the Patriots fans a true gauge of how good this team really is. It they can beat this powerhouse football team, and I truly believe this will be a proven test that the Patriots are ready for but fall just shy of a victory dropping to 7-5 through twelve games.
Finally entering the last five games of the season the Patriots should find themselves right in the playoff hunt with a 7-5 record. Entering December they host the New York Giants at home. However, the big question will be who the Giants roll out as their quarterback, will it be rookie quarterback Jaxon Dart? I believe our coaches will have their team up for the challenge as they should roll to victory before their bye week to give them an 8-5 record. With the Bye week so late in the season this will give the team much-needed rest heading into the final four games of the season and headed toward the playoffs. Coming off the bye week and a critical stretch in the season the Patriots host the Buffalo Bills at home. This game should be closer than earlier in the season however the same result in a loss dropping New England to 8-6. Following the loss against the Bills the Patriots are on the road for the final time as they face the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens are a super bowl contending team and should dominate this game against the Patriots handing them the loss and dropping their record to 8-7. New England now faces a critical spot in their season and are hanging on their playoff chances heading back to New York to face the Jets before coming back to Foxboro for the final game against the Dolphins. Facing both division foes the Jets and Dolphins New England should beat them both to secure a 10-7 record.
To summarize Coach Mike Vrabel's first season with the Patriots should prove the franchise is back to its winning ways with a solid season. Quarterback
Drake Maye will lead the team to a 10-7 record and back to the Playoffs as a wild card team. Finally, Patriot nation our team is back again to their winning ways.
